Desculpa la, Mia, mas, esta sofa e para os humanos…ok never mind. Seriously, is this the luckiest dog in the world or what? Anyway, it has been far too long since I updated this blog and it’s high time I posted something! I have been so busy these past few weeks. New and exciting things have happened! The weather is finally getting somewhat warmer. I started a new semester with new students at American School of Languages. I’m going to teach my first Yoga class next week!
And after wanting to play guitar for like MY WHOLE LIFE, I up and decided a few weeks ago that I’d just buy one and see how it went. Here is my new guitar!
It’s a Fender Acoustic. When I picked it up and strummed it I knew it was the one. Great woodwork, solid panel construction, nice full sound, and pretty too.
I guess picking a guitar is like picking a woman. You just know she’s the one straight away.
I’m practicing like 2-3 hours a day and I enjoy it! Not at all like piano, which was a struggle the whole time. The songs I’m learning are:
Seu Jorge – Starman, Rebel Rebel, Ziggy Stardust, Mina do Condomínio, Burgesinha, Tive Razão,
Juno Soundtrack: Michael Cera & Ellen Page – Anyone Else But You; Antsy Pants – Tree Hugger, Vampire
Nouvelle Vague – Dance With Me
Sublime – Badfish
Mazzy Star – Flowers in December
Journey – Don’t Stop Believin’
and of course…DUNAS! São como Divãs… lol.

So I’ll post a video of me playing once I have sufficiently mastered a song. I’m pretty close for the Juno Soundtrack songs because they are mostly easy chords. The Seu Jorge songs are the hardest with chords like Dmaj7/9 etc. My fingers on my left hand are all calloused and peeling from all the practice on the metal strings. It’s the price you gotta pay I guess.
Well I hope all is well with you dear reader and leave a comment in the space below if you’d like to request a song to be posted once I learn it.

Keep practicing like a maniac and one day you’ll be rocking the streets with the Guents
Thank you for the nice Pics of Mia
Love them!
