Ok so its another sunny Fall day in Lisbon. Winter is fast approaching with December coming up soon. I can’t believe that its December already! Why is it that the fall just seems to rush by year after year?
Today I decided to go for a walk through the Eduardo VII park. I woke up and I saw the sun shining and I said yep! Gonna stretch my legs today. I needed some exercise anyway. The Eduardo VII park is a great place to get some sun or to do some running. In some ways it reminds me of the Mall in Washington D.C. At the top of the park there is a rather large garden that is named after the Fado singer Amália Rodriguez.
At the top of the park there is a rather large fountain that overflows onto the walkway that surrounds it. I can imagine that the maintenance on this entire area is very high.
From the top of the park you can see all the way to the river. This is kinda like a miradouro. You can see the Marques do Pombal statue and roundabout from here.
I feel a Rocky moment coming on. It’s not quite like the steps that Rocky ran up during his training but, this slope is pretty surreal. It slopes gradually up (or down) and while walking along it you are overwhelmed with the desire to run and flap your arms wildly. At least I did.
After visiting the park I could have taken public transport back to Estrela but I decided to walk through Campolide and Amoreiras instead. On the way I encountered some funny street art.
There were many other murals, too many to count in fact, but the Marilyn Monroe was by far the best. The sun came down while I was walking home and I decided to cook up a hearty meal. It consisted of a vegetable stir fry, some fresh sausages (loganzinhas) and some mango chutney with goat cheese. My roommates dog, Mia, was very interested in the smells.
Afterward dinner it was time to veg out on the couch and watch some American football. Yes, we do get to watch the Lions and the ‘Canes over here in Portugal.
Stay tuned for Winter pictures!

They are all great pictures !
Now you have a dog ?
Thanks! The dog is my roommate’s, her name is Mia.
